I met a homeless man today
I talked with a homeless man today as well as gave him some money to get food. Hey, we all need to eat! He shared 3 things that stuck out to me.
1) He had a life of constant let downs. He shared stories of how his family and friends didn't follow through on their commitments to him

Secret act of kindness
Do a secret act of kindness for someone else today. Leave a post-it note in a public area that will lift up someone's spirit such as "you are beautiful, have a great day." Leave a $5 bill in an envelope at a park where people in need are with a note saying "have a cup of coffee or buy something you would like." Post what you did here on this website...
Families Sleeping in the Cold in Apartments
The cost of home heating oil is on the rise. This winter is supposed to be a very cold winter on the East coast of the United States. There are going to be many families and children who will not be able to heat their apartments because of the cost. During this winter when you are cold, remind yourself that there are many going to be extremely cold and
Family received Christmas presents
Made a Christmas present delivery to a family (2 parents and a child) last week. If it were not for the kindness of people donating money, these gifts would not have been purchased. If it were not for volunteers, the presents would not have made it into this home. If it were not for people helping others, this family would have woken up on Christmas morning with no presents to open. Because good people came together, these parents must have been delighted to see their child's face smiling as he opened up his presents. The parents must have been very happy to open up some presents of their own.

UCLA Foodbank
When a group of UCLA students set out recently to deliver food they had collected for the homeless and needy, they didn’t have to travel far. Many on the Westwood campus are unaware of the Food Closet, as it is known. But for those students who are cash-strapped or homeless, it has become an indispensable feature of campus life. The door is always open, and 40 to 50 students drop by each day. Microwaves, plates and utensils are located in a student lounge across the hall.
